monomorphic bands

monomorphic bands
DNA fragments of specific sizes found in most individuals. Each different size monomorphic fragment is detected by cleaving genomic DNA with a specific restriction enzyme and hybridizing with a specific monomorphic probe. These fragments provide excellent markers for use in quality control especially as related to band shift.
